If you<br \/>\nscroll to the bottom of the home page, you will see a picture of me<br \/>\nstrangling the cancer monster and this same poem there as well.<\/p>\n<h2>*A Sonnet<\/h2>\n<p><em>On Being Told I Have Advanced Cancer<br \/>\n(dedicated to my nutritionist)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Along with what my doctor said, I swallowed<br \/>\nA wave of fear that swept and nearly drowned me.<br \/>\nThen from the mighty undertow there followed<br \/>\nA calm, uplifting faith that somehow found me.<\/p>\n<p>I summoned all my strength to help ensure<br \/>\nI&#8217;d keep afloat, to breathe and not get battered.<br \/>\nI looked around for help to find a cure<br \/>\nAnd reassured those folks who really mattered.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve watched the progress of my life take form<br \/>\nAnd as the months roll by I see I can<br \/>\nRebuild the ship anew amidst the storm,<br \/>\nBecause the faith I have\u00e2\u20ac\u201dis who I am.<\/p>\n<p>When friends and family ask me how I&#8217;m feeling<br \/>\nAnd am I cured?
