We're Back!

We are back and glad to be in our own bed, I can assure you! Of course, it will take weeks to dig out from the mail and phone messages from nearly two months away. But our trip to Africa, Codex/Geneva and India has been nothing short of a resounding success for health freedom. You can read about it all -- start to finish -- in our day-by-day blog.

Taking it Global

The problem is global although a lot of it is "Made in USA". The solutions, however, are both local and global so we have been working with a national and global constituency. Our strategy is simple: develop a world-wide constituency for health and health freedom and support change inside Codex and outside of it.

That's what this trip cost. Hotels, air fair, transportation, printing costs, food... it all adds up. The positive forward movement we catalyzed in building an active alliance for health and health freedom in Codex and outside of it were beyond our wildest expectations.

We are, in essence, bringing a whole new consortium of health-focused forces into alignment and giving them the tools they need to act together, not alone, for your health and your health freedom.

• Our revolutionary international legal strategy for protecting whole populations (including the US's) from dangerous and deadly "food" has been resoundingly confirmed by legal and trade experts and is now under detailed examination in a number of countries.
• Countries which had no thought of acting together in Codex to turn the corporate tide are now looking at ways to do just that
• National leaders, Ministers of Health, Codex Contact Points, journalists and health activists in the world's second most populous country (India) and a growing group of African countries are now beginning to think about new ways of protecting their -- and our -- food supply to promote health, not corporate profits and profitable disease.
• Natural Solutions Foundation -- Africa and Natural Solutions Foundation -- India are now realities, working for pro-health and health freedom in their own regions. You'll hear more about each of these organizations in the days to come.
• We are very proud of what our international trips and attendance at Codex meetings means. That's the good news.

The bad news is that good works cost money.

Many of you have contributed generously to this work and we thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts. But for those of you who have not yet done so, please consider this:

A while back we posted a fund raising thermometer which estimated on our home page which estimated our expenses for the remainder of 2006 at about $200K. That sounds like a lot of money but it really isn't if you are going to accomplish a task as big as ours.

Natural Solutions Foundation has to work hard, like the Red Queen, to run fast enough to maintain our forward momentum with the people and countries we have already brought into the loop and must, at the same time, run faster yet to widen the impact of our message. In fact, consider this:

• Our wonderful lawyers, outstanding graphic artist and we work totally pro-bono (without compensation) for Natural Solutions Foundation.
• Natural Solutions Foundation must have a staff to support us administratively since there is no way we can keep up with the demands a growing organization requires in addition to our own work. There are only 24 hours in any given day and we simply need more hands to fill them.
• We need to make at least 2 more long trips this year (including one to Thailand where we will attend the 2006 meeting of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) to support South Africa's highly pro-health principles for implementing the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Exercise and Physical Activity, running strategy workshops for, and sponsoring, delegates to Codex

Help Wanted!

So the answer is clear. We need your help and we need it now. We would like each of you to take each of the following steps to push health freedom forward:

1. Ask yourself what health freedom is worth to you then and make a tax-deductible donation to the Natural Solutions Foundation in that amount. Perhaps you might like to donate the amount that you spend per month on high potency supplements to keep yourself healthy. We are fighting to make sure that you can keep on taking them but it is an expensive battle.
2. Consider a recurring donation so that we know what we can count on per month. That helps us a lot.
3. Spreading the word is essential. We suggest you set yourself a goal to sign up least 3 people for the free newsletter on our home page so that more people "get it" and can influence their respective communities as well.
4. Circulate the e-newsletter, blogs and updates you get from the Natural Solutions Foundation to your circle of influence (COI) and ask them to sign up for the newsletter, too (the data totally private, of course). When they hear that you think this is important, they will pay attention to it and spread the word even further.
5. Sign the Citizen's Peititon which, unlike an ordinary petition, is a direct legal challenge to the illegal Codex policies of the US Government. This step is important in creating the legal matrix for change, including "exhausting administrative remedies" leading to a full-scale legal challenge to these dangerous and illegal policies should our petition not be granted.
6. Make sure you have the latest information: watch "Nutricide: the DVD" and show it in your community. It is galvanizing information which I guarantee will motivate your and your community to protect yourself and your loved ones from Codex.
7. Read the Codex eBook and learn how the "Codex 2 Step" process can protect your access to nutrients and supplements and can be applied to all the other dangers presented to our health by Codex. This is the same document which was presented to the President of India to explain this issue!
8. Post a link to our site on yours. This increases our search engine ratings and helps other people spread the world. Send us a 1-2 sentence description of your site and we will link to you.

No Fortress America

America's food and America's health are global matters. America's moral connection with the rest of the planet's food/health is directly tied to what American corporate greed is attempting to force onto the plates of everyone on the planet, here and abroad: devitalized, contaminated food that supports and sustains illness while promoting highly profitable ill health.

Remember, the US is Codex Alimentarius's principal driver, pushing junk food, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, GM crops and foods, synthetic growth hormones, etc., etc. all the while making a profit from what the World Health Organization has identified as the "chronic diseases of under nutrition: cancers, cardiovascular disease and stroke, diabetes, obesity" and the other modern killers.

During the Codex Committee on Food Labeling (Ottawa, May 1-5, 2006), the US Delegate to that meeting, FDA's Barbara Schneeman said that the US opposes "Optimal Health" as a goal of Codex and that it would not support banning advertising junk food to children under 18 despite the fact that such foods are known to increase preventable illness and death.

We have a lot of work to undo.
