Email Newsletter from 12/15/05"At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities." ~Jean Houston Let me share a very personal story with you:Nearly 35 years ago I was in Denmark where I have dear friends and have spent a good deal of time. If you know me you know that I am really interested in the way people build their cultures. So I am very interested in how different cultures decorate and adorn their environments and themselves as an expression of their world view. Out of that interest, I particularly enjoy textiles and culturally meaningful decorative arts. So, walking down the street in Copenhagen I saw a beautiful Danish traditional bonnet in the window and I went inside to ask about its history. I got to know, and then become good friends with, the owner of the shop, Ella Nielsen. Ella was just 18 years old when the Nazis invaded Denmark on April 9, 1940 and goose-stepped their way down the main street in Copenhagen. We all know the story: courageous King Christian showed up to meet the Nazis wearing the armband and yellow star the Nazis demanded all Danish Jews wear. What most people do not know is what happened next. The stunned Danes, according to my friend Ella, did not know what to do: their dearly loved little country had been invaded and they knew they were no match for either the Nazi political machine or the military one. So after standing in shocked silence for some minutes, the Danes did what the Danes do so well: they started to laugh. The laughter spread through the crowd. It deepened and rolled and roared. The Germans did not realize what was happening at first and became very uneasy at the sound. Then they realized that it was the sound of tens, hundreds of thousands of people roaring with laughter. At them. They looked around. They broke ranks, they stopped and pointed their rifles wildly at the laughing Danes. But they did not fire a single shot. Those well trained, disciplined crack Nazi troops were totally disoriented by the laughter and left the streets in disarray. The Danes realized that laughter was a potent weapon and they used it continually on the sober, serious and highly vulnerable Nazis throughout the occupation. The Nazis never figured out how to deal with it. Ella told me how she, a blond, blue eyed, very beautiful fluent German speaking 18 year old would respond to a German soldier or Gestapo agents who spoke to her. She would bat her lovely eyes, toss her blond curls and sing-song" Ich versteh nicht" [I don't understand!] Ich verstehe nicht!" And then she would run away giggling wildly. What the bewildered Nazis never realizes was that the bubble-headed girl running away from them was sabotaging everything in sight when she was able to get away with it along with all her other friends in the Danish Resistance Movement. Ella lit up and became young again when she told me that story. And I, watching her once un-faded blue eyes sparkle with the life and power of that humor, have never forgotten Ella's lesson in one of the many things that humor can mean. It can mean that an inauthentic power structure is breaking up and that the consciousness of the time is aware of it, often before the bulk of the populace is. So if you track humor and satire closely, not only will you enjoy the study, but you will often see the bell weather, the harbinger, of change before it is manifest in other aspects of the culture. It's that way with health freedom right now. People are laughing at drugs, seeing them as absurd. This is a really good sign!
It's pretty amazing but pretty clear: We, the [little] People, are making our voices and our laughter heard. We are making our wishes felt in the Health Freedom War despite:
We ARE winning the war!The other side is fighting a rear guard action and they know it. Codex is a Big Pharma inspiration which is every bit as dangerous -- and profit driven -- as making every phase and stage of life a disease. And, while some people do buy into that model of ill health (regrettably, most physicians are at the head of the line, of course, since their entire education, in medical school and after it, is controlled by the very industry they should be most leery about because of the deadly toxicity of these drugs which are the leading cause of death in America) many more are figuring out that drugs and death, disability and distress far too often go hand in hand. Our laughter is a big problem for the other side. Keep on laughing. And keep on taking action!Oh, by the way, I almost forgot to mention: Nutricide: the DVD is now avilable. Order it for yourself, show it at a public gathering, give it to others and give copies to your members of Congress! We are on the winning side. It's worth laughing about! * The DUMP Initiative is simple. You will receive a written acknowledgment tax receipt showing the sale price. Items that do not sell online will be offered for sale in an auction house so they will still help us keep fighting for health and health freedom. If you have special items for donation, such as vehicles, services, tickets to shows or other date sensitive items, please email us before sending the goods, so we can make special arrangements with the D.U.M.P.
