Healthy food, correctly prepared, is a cornerstone of the ancient Chinese 5 Elements system. In fact, this IS the quintessential Chinese Food. Join our 5 Elements Intensive Seminar students for 2 hours every morning in our Valley of the Moon Teaching Kitchen to focus each day on a different member of the 5 Element system. Learn how to prepare and use delicious health(y) food.
Supplies and utensils provided. If you like, you can, by reservation, join us for lunch as we continue our exploration on 5 Element health. Each day’s menu will focus on one of the 5 elements.

5 Element Intensive Seminar: January 10-14, 2010
The Chinese 5 Elements Theory offers information and action options for food, health, organ systems and their diseases, sound, colors, tastes and energy.
Our focus will be on what you can do yourself, using the rich 5 Elements Theory to create health and healing practices for yourself.
The 5 Elements are related by their characteristics and their interactions and form the basis for Traditional Oriental Medicine, Qi Gong, acupuncture, etc.
Come spend a week learning about the 5 Elements, eating DELICIOUS 5 elements food (all BeyondOrganic, of course!) which you’ll learn to prepare and use for health in our teaching kitchen every morning, learn the 5 Elements diagnostic and treatment systems for conditions and diseases, explore sound and color as part of health and healing, understand the basis of Fung Shui and much, much more!
Each of the five days of the Intensive Week will be devoted to a different Element
We’ll explore its color, sound, organs, foods, etc. each day. In fact, you’ll learn how to make your own non-toxic paints using milk and natural toxins so you can create (and teach) the 5 Elements
All meals will be provided at the Valley of the Moon Restaurant and Cafe and will be, of course, BeyondOrganic. Each day’s meals will focus on a different member of the 5 element’s food, flavor, impact, etc.

The 5 Element Intensive starts with an optional 5 Elements Welcome Banquet on Sunday night, January 9, 2011 at the Valley of the Moon Restaurant. Our BeyondOrganic™ 5 Elements Feast will be served for Seminar participants and others on a space limited basis on Sunday evening, January 9, 2011 at 6:30 PM. Please call 6939 5226 for reservations. January 10-14, 2011. Every day will begin with a 5 Elements BeyondOrganic breakfast and discussion beginning our focus on that day’s element.
After breakfast, we’ll move to the teaching kitchen for a practical lesson during which we’ll prepare part of the food for the day, focusing on the curative and preventive properties of the foods and herbs. If you are interested in attending the cooking portion of the course only, you may do so on a strictly space-limited basis.
Seminar participants will take a break for a 5 Elements snack in keeping with our day’s theme, then experiential or lecture sessions will take us to lunch.
Of course, that’s part of the day’s lesson, too, as our food takes us deeper into the 5 Elements experience. We’ll take a bit of time off, then back to our Intensive afternoon program, complete with 5Elements snack and dinner.
Each evening after dinner we’ll be looking at sleep management from a 5 Elements point of view. So from 7:30 to 9 PM each evening we will use sound, movement, breathing and other techniques to learn how to invite and maintain good sleep every night, night after night. For those people not taking the full Seminar, attendance at the evening program, Welcoming Sleep the 5 Elements Way, is possible on a space-limited basis. The 4 lecture series is available for a Tuition of $60. Registration is for the full 4 session series only.

Directions To The Valley of the Moon, Volcan
From the Center of Volcan: Take the Via Volcan towards Conception. On your right as you are getting near the end of Volcan you will see a large brown circular building and a red, unnamed gas station on your left. There is a sign for the Valley of the Moon on your Right. Turn right and go one block.
From Conception, David, Boquete:
Follow the signs as you come up the Via Volcan towards Volcan for the Valley of the Moon. On your left as you are entering Volcan you will see a large brown circular building and a red, unnamed gas station on your right . There is a sign for the Valley of the Moon on your left. Turn left and go one block.
AFTER YOU HAVE GONE 1 BLOCK:
You are now facing a white wall. Make a right turn and an immediate left turn. This takes you around the corner of the wall. Continue straight (DO NOT TAKE THE ROAD THAT GOES OFF TO THE RIGHT). The paving ends. Continue straight. Two signs will guide you. Now you are on an unpaved road which you will take past 7 houses on your left hand side.
There is a large thatched patio which tells you that you are here! Park nose in, please, so as many people as possible can park in front of the Valley of the Moon. You are here!
