The Natural Solutions Foundation (NSF) is an international NGO (Non Governmental Organization) founded in 2004 by Maj Gen Bert Stubblebine (US Army, ret) and his wife, Dr Rima E Laibow, MD. NSF is focused on comprehensive health solutions and access, including the primary importance of access to clean, unadulterated food within the context of functional social systems. We are a not for profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization in the United States and are active and registered in several countries. The Mission of the Foundation is to discover, develop, document, demonstrate and disseminate natural solutions to the impediment surrounding health and food coupled with achieving and maintaining a healthy self, community and world.
Since its founding, the Natural Solutions Foundation has pursued a vigorous program on many fronts, including natural solutions to significant social problems centering around access and human rights focusing on food, information and technology dissemination and the resultant increased personal and community wellness. With the internationalizing of food supplies, we see our Eco Development Community in Panama as part of the global solution to global issues that strongly impact Americans – thus, the Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Community: www.MyValleyoftheMoon.org
From its inception, VotM has been designed to be inclusive along a number of different parameters, rather than an enclave of isolated people. To further that inclusiveness, the Trustees have created a new program for people in small households (no more than 2-3 persons) who would like to share BICs. That means that two couples, or a 3 person household and a single person, or a single person and a couple) could combine their resources to build a duplex home (in whatever creative way works) and share the opportunities conferred by the BIC.
A BIC is a Beneficial Interest Certificate and indicates participation in the community, carrying with it certain rights and commitments. For example, if two households share the cost of the BIC equally (and how you want to do it would be up to the people involved), then when the sharing of interest took place annually, each partial BIC holder would get 1/2 of the distribution. Both households would be able to access the VotM goods and services at coop prices, would be able to participate in the governance although if it came to a vote, the BIC UNIT would cast a single vote and how that vote was cast would be for the households sharing it to decide before that vote was cast. The infrastructure costs for the duplex (water, electricity, internet) might have to be a bit higher than for a single household, but that is a detail which the design aspects of the community will sort out.
The Trustees are really excited about this possibility. What it means is that we can expand the number of people who are able to participate in this wonderful community without increasing the environmental pressure on the land. It means to more IRAs and 401s can get protected, increasing our funds so we can purchase our land sooner and move to Phase III, our permanent home!
So, in essence, the Trustees are now running a limited BIC Sharing “Dating Service” since we know that you want to have neighbors with whom you are comfortable.

Your price of admission is not money. Rather, we need a picture of you and anyone else in your household who would be part of your BIC share and this check list submitted electronically. We will post both in a slide show along with contact information. Once you “meet” electronically, you can decide whom you would like to talk to to see if it’s a good match. You can, of course, “meet” as many other households as you like.

So, once again: Ground Rules for the Shared BIC Webinar, Wednesday, October 27, 9 PM Eastern Time
1. Email a photo of the person or people who will be involved in a shared BIC with the names and ages of each indicated along with the photo.
2. Indicate the name of the person who will be the contact point for the household and how to contact you (e.g, Skype, email, phone) and the best times to call, including those times NOT to call. Remember to indicate your timezone!!!!
3. Answer the following questions as completely as possible

Please give as much information as you can and add anything else that is important to you. We’ll put your pictures and contact information up on a slide show so that others who fill out the questionnaire but are not able to attend the seminar on October 27, 2010 at 9 PM Eastern Time can access it later.
If you are concerned about security issues, the Trustees suggest that you set up a new email specifically for this purpose and for these correspondences. You need to be comfortable before you release your information to anyone.
