This is the hardest restaurant review I have ever had to write. If I just had to describe, the food, service and ambiance, I could probably type that out in a few hours or so. There is so much more to this story and so much more about the two founders, It would almost take a book.

Let’s start with an appetizer of corporate intrigue and deception. For the main course there is a generous selection of government conspiracy. For desert, the not so sweet prospect of world population control by medical deception.

Valley of the Moon BeyonOrganic™ Restaurant is 1 kilometer West of the main avenue in Volcan. Just make a left turn at the no-name gas station and the octagonal restaurant and follow the signs.

If you Google in “Dr. Rima Laibow” you will come up with more than 48,000 Internet articles and pages. It would be fair comment to say that Rima Laibow and her husband retired Major General Bert Stubbelbine are among the globe’s leading crusaders for health freedom. They travel the world speaking at seminars, colleges, on television and radio and publicly opposing the questionable activities of governments and multinational pharmaceutical and mega food companies.

Their message is loud and clear, that unless we the people stand up and take action, our freedom of choice in matters of health, food and lifestyle will be taken away from us. For many this might sound like a story of two “conspiracy nuts” who started a restaurant. If it wasn’t for the experience I had as a television producer in Canada, I might agree. Working freelance for the Health Action Network Society in Vancouver, I produced many programs featuring doctors, lawyers and ex-government research scientists that detailed the corporate conspiracy in the health care and pharmaceutical field. These whistle-blowers also claimed involvement of various western government agencies.

Because of their concern about food and health freedom, Rima and Bert, who are the Medical Director and President of the Natural Solutions Foundation, an international NGO (www.GlobalHealthFreedom.org) decided to create the Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Project (www.MyValleyoftheMoon.org) to help reclaim the production of clean food worldwide. Part of that project includes opening what they describe as a “BeyondOrganic™” restaurant. When my wife and I drove up to the restaurant the first words from my wife’s mouth were “Wow, they have certainly done it right.” To the left of the main dining area is a thatched bohio with expensive rattan style chairs. With the-ever present threat of rain looming over us we decided to eat inside the formal dining room. Again the first impression was of a restaurant designed and decorated with great care. Large and colorful paintings adorn the walls. Just about everything says “5 star” –fortunately, the prices at Valley of the Moon are not.

An all-organic evening meal will cost you around $12.00. This includes soup starter, a main course, salad and desert. Finally if you have any room left they will bring out a French press and pour you a delicious cup of All Natural coffee. In my notes I wrote the soup was “wonderful” and the fresh, whole grain bread had me order a second basket full. The main course was salmon with green beans and a side salad. I distinctly remember muttering “excellent” with just about every mouthful I consumed.

One person you should meet is the head chef, “Gail.” This woman typifies everything that Rima and Bert stand for. Gail’s husband had “agent orange” defoliant sprayed on him while serving in the Vietnam war. Gail, later had a stillborn “agent orange” child. When Rima pointed out to Gail the same, active ingredient in agent orange was also in a domestically available herbicide – Gail immediately signed up to work for the organization. Sadly, Gail’s husband passed away last year. Undaunted, this bright, blue-eyed, woman puts love and caring into every dish that comes out of the Valley of the Moon kitchen.

The restaurant does not serve wine or beer, but for a corkage charge of $2.50 you can bring a bottle of your favorite beverage and they will happily pour it for you.

Rima Laibow and Bert Stubbelbine are two controversial characters. But if worldwide governments get their way, arrests could soon be made for growing tomatoes in your own back yard. The law could also change so that the only way you could get vitamins or supplements would be from a dealer on some street corner. The message from Rima Laibow and Bert Stubbelbine is, “Be informed and be active.” Valley of the Moon Restaurant in Volcan – great organic meals for the body, highly inspiring food for the mind, in a beautiful setting.

Sigh… Hacked and Attacked in a New Way…


If you are among the few who have made a donation to the Natural Solutions Foundation, we thank you.  Your support makes our work possible.  A couple folks, however, have recently found that their credit and debit cards are being used to make donations they did not intend, often in small amounts (such as our minimum donation, $5.00 or our suggested donation of $5.10).

These questionable charges are of grave concern to us since they represent an invasion of your privacy, a threat to your good will and, as our horrific interaction with the Merchant Services company that took our money out of our bank account last year [reported by use here:  [http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/?p=2732] shows, a potent way to attack the Natural Solutions Foundation.

Coffee Drinking Associated With Reduced Oral Cancer Risk

October 19, 2010 — Drinking coffee is associated with a 36% reduction in the risk for cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx, according to Italian investigators who performed a meta-analysis of observational studies.

These findings echo those published earlier this year by the same group of researchers, and reported by Medscape Medical News at that time. However, the scope of the new study is larger and includes other aerodigestive tract cancers, including those of the esophagus.

The researchers did not find any association between coffee drinking and the risk for laryngeal and esophageal cancers.

“There are no definite biological mechanisms of the potential favorable role of coffee on [oral cavity and pharynx] cancer,” the authors write in their paper, which was published online October 13 in the Annals of Oncology.

However, coffee has “many chemicals with antioxidant and antimutagenic activities,” they say. The concentration of these chemicals varies, “depending on type of coffee power (Arabica or Robusta), roasting, and preparation,” the authors add.

A number of compounds found in coffee, such as chlorogenic acids, cafestol, and kahweol, have been shown to reduce the genotoxicity of several carcinogens, they explain.

The authors also point out that coffee drinking has been inversely related to liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, endometrial cancer, and colorectal cancer.

Maternal Influenza Vaccination May Protect Infants From Flu

October 7, 2010 — Maternal influenza vaccination may be associated with protection from influenza in infants, according to the results of a nonrandomized, prospective, observational cohort study reported online October 4 in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.

“The US Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends that pregnant women receive influenza vaccine because of the increased risk of influenza complications in pregnant women,” write Angelia A. Eick, PhD, from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland, and colleagues. “Maternal influenza vaccination may also confer a benefit to infants born during influenza season, as they are ineligible for vaccination until 6 months of age.”

[REL] Never mind that these very products have never, never been shown to be either safe or effective for pregnant women and have been shown to contain ingredients which pose severe threats to fetuses.

YES, YES!!!! Monsanto, the giant biotechnology agriculture company that created genetically modified corn, soybeans and herbicides, isn’t riding so high this year in the stocks department, as news comes in that its products aren’t working like they’d hoped.

According to the New York Times, weeds are becoming immune to Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup, and its latest genetically modified, 8-gene corn is a flop, producing yields no higher than the company’s less expensive corn, which contains only three foreign genes.

“Monsanto has already been forced to sharply cut prices on SmartStax and on its newest soybean seeds, called Roundup Ready 2 Yield, as sales fell below projections,” the Times said. “And the Justice Department is investigating Monsanto for possible antitrust violations.”

“Until now, Monsanto’s main challenge has come from opponents of genetically modified crops, who have slowed their adoption in Europe and some other regions. Now, however, the skeptics also include farmers and investors who were once in Monsanto’s camp.”

Monsanto was named “company of the year” by Forbes Magazine in December. Last week, television stock market commentator Jim Cramer said it “may be the worst stock of 2010,” the Times said. The truth, as shown by the graphs, is that the great decrease in acute infectious diseases during the past century or so is the result of hygiene and nutrition, not vaccination. Freedom of Information for Health — and to Stop Misbranded Vaccines!

Seeking Redress through the FDA: Transparency… What Transparency?

Working in cooperation with Paul G. King PhD [The Know Zone: http://dr-king.com/ ] the Natural Solutions Foundation submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the labeling of a particular Vaccine, which appears to be even less informative than the labeling provided in the package insert for parenteral drugs and other injectable vaccines.

In addition to not disclosing that vaccines are uninsurable risks, and that they still contain potent so-called “trace” amounts of toxins, this particular drug’s labeling fails to disclose the nature and amount of the “inactive” ingredients in this vaccine, a parenteral drug, to an unprecedented extent. We know that the fully informed consent mandated by international humanitarian laws, such as the Declaration of Helsinki, requires drug labeling transparency!

So we asked the FDA to produce copies of certain records which the Agency should be receiving from the drug company prior to approving the vaccine drug. This includes the types of production records that would reveal the actual composition of the vaccine drug and thus the presence of the unrevealed “inactive” ingredients. We are concerned, for among other reasons, because no parent could ever determine the toxic load to which his or her child is being subjected without full disclosure of the names and the amounts, or percentages, of all the ingredients in a vaccine dose as explicitly required by the FDA’s own regulations.

Early on, we wrote the Agency,

“…our concern centers around the disclosures that … [vaccine] makes to the public; our scientist noted a difference between the label disclosures typical for vaccines and the lesser disclosures about ingredients and “trace” contaminants on the … [vaccine] labeling (i.e., the packaging insert). We want to help the agency assure the public that vaccines, as required by law, are as safe as they can be.”

The regulations require the drug company to disclose on the label “the name of all inactive ingredients” including “the quantity or proportion of all inactive ingredients except that ingredients added to adjust pH or make the drug isotonic may be declared by name and a statement of effect” (see 21 CFR § 201.100(b)(5)(iii)).

Currently, all that the FDA and the manufacturer reveal about the composition of the vaccine dose, outside of the identities and amounts of its active ingredients, is that each dose nominally contains not more than 0.30 microgram (mcg) of formaldehyde per dose.

The FDA Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) administrators apparently ignoring the Agency’s own clear labeling requirements for “inactive” ingredients in parenteral drugs set forth in 21 CFR § 201.100(b)(5), not only approved the vaccine with a package insert that fails to disclose the names and amounts of the inactive ingredients (and thus apparently renders this drug
“misbranded” under the applicable law) but also rebuffed our attempts to have CBER personnel disclose those ingredients and their per-dose amounts, directing us to get the information from the manufacturer or by submitting an appropriate request to the FDA under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

We did seek the information directly from the manufacturer, but, as a review of the correspondence with the manufacturer clearly shows, the manufacturer rebuffed our attempts to have it disclose the composition of the vaccine dose in a manner that complies with 21 CFR 201.100(b)(5), thereby continuing the misbranding of the drug.

The FDA has now also rebuffed our FOIA efforts, claiming incongruously that the information, which the Agency admits exists, is a proprietary secret, despite the law that requires disclosure of the names and the per dose amounts or percentages of the inactive ingredients in a parenteral drug such as the vaccine!

We are, of course, appealing the FOIA denial to “exhaust our administrative remedies” so we can bring this matter before the independent United States District Court to continue to seek redress of grievances; to continue to PUSH BACK against the collusion between the Agency and the drug companies, in the interests of transparency and the health of you and your children. This suit, which we will prepare and pursue on behalf of every person in the United States, is in addition to our ground breaking “Stop the Shot Case”, now ready to go back into Federal Court after two previous iterations of the case prevailed on narrow grounds. We are not satisfied. We
want to win on the broadest possible grounds in both cases.

Medscape’s Predictable Defense of Mandating Vaccines…

“Yes, it is legal for a hospital to require the influenza vaccine for employees. Your employer cannot force you to receive the vaccine, but the employer can make vaccination a condition of employment. So, if you refuse, understand that it may cost you your job. Some employers will consider exceptions on the basis of religion… You could sue an employer for negligence if the employer subjected you to unsafe working conditions. But the flu vaccine has been proven safe, and one could argue that it is a safety precaution to require the vaccination.” Counsel Buppert NP, JD

As professionals working in the health care field, we are deeply concerned by the mis-information contained in the above noted Medscape article. For example, Counsel Buppert asserts that flu vaccines “have been proven safe”. By what means, by whom, under what circumstances? For the past twenty or more years, flu vaccines (since after the deadly fiasco of the first “Swine Flu” vaccine in 1976) have been approved as “mere” change of strain vaccines without any significant safety testing. This was true even for the 2009 “Swine Flu” which the government, speaking out of both sides of its mouth, declared to be both a “novel” virus and a “mere change of strain…” at the same time. Where is the alleged safety “proof” published? A citation would be most welcome.

Insteady, we cite the only published review of the record in a peer-reviewed journal, which shows that the influenza vaccines have not been shown to be effective. That conclusions is found in Geier DA, King PG, Geier MR. Influenza Vaccine: Review of effectiveness of the U.S. immunization program and policy considerations. J American Physicians and Surgeons 2006 Fall; 11(3): 69-74

Thus these FDA-approved and CDC-recommended drugs are not proven to be either effective or safe.

In fact, the reason that the organization of which we are the Medical Director and Counsel, the Natural Solutions Foundation, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org, has twice brought suit against the FDA and related agencies and officials, to prohibit the use of flu vaccines precisely because, in addition to posing unisurable risks, failing to show any clinical efficacy, increasing the all-cause death rate and serious consequence incidence (including asthma) in pediatric and other groups, these vaccines have never been proven to be either safe or effective. The 2009 “Swine Flu” vaccine has over 165 miscarriage VAER reports, although a “normal” flu vaccine usually has between 0 and 7 such reports.

Reading Ms. Buppert’s response, which hinges upon the notion that these vaccines have, “in fact,” been proven safe, the immediate conclusion of the informed reader must be that since they have not been proven to be safe, mandating these shots can never be consistent with either US law or international humanitarian law.

The assertion that mandating vaccines is legal is a misreading of a 1905 court case which was about the legality of levying a small fine on someone who does not submit to a required vaccine during an emergency. In that case, the United States Supreme Court actually reserved to the Courts the authority to intervene in vaccination issues. See Jacobson v Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11 (1905) — the high court held that the judiciary is “competent to interfere and protect the health and life of the individual concerned” if there is a showing of potential harm to the individual. Since the safety of vaccines was not raised in that case, the issue remains open and the general principle of law that one cannot be forced to accept a trespass to exercise a right remains inviolate.

We challenge the proponents of mass vaccination to openly debate this controversial policy which does not have “significant scientific agreement” behind it — especially if those scientists who are dependent upon vaccine money are excluded from consideration due to their conflict of interest.

Could it be that such conflicts have permitted the drug company and government-supported portion of the scientific community to turn a blind eye to the disasterous pandemic of autism, clearly caused by the extraordinary toxic load to which many children are being subjected, from toxic foods, a toxic environment and the toxins that abundantly remain in vaccines? For the sake of the children, the government’s mass vaccine policy and its supporters must carry a heavy burden of proof in these matters; and we assert they have failed to meet that burden.
