Yes we are “crying wolf…” because there is a wolf pack at the door!

Our indomitable supporter coordinator, Kathy Greene, responds to many email inquiries on behalf of Dr. Rima and Health Freedom USA. Our last Health Freedom Action eAlert elicited a comment from a long-time supporter: “Hi, I am a physician and have a huge mailing list that I will send to BUT you guys cry wolf so many times… when is it real???”

Hi Dr J. I don’t know how closely you follow the legislation being considered in Washington DC, but we have consistently been RIGHT about what is being introduced to limit our use of nutrients It is real right now.

PUSH BACK WORKS!

It was because we SCREAMED over the McCain Bill last month, that he pulled it. He said he had received over 300,000 emails in 48 hours against the Bill (and he is running for re-election), so he decided to pull it.

Unfortunately, some of the worst in that Bill was added to the “Slap Wall Street on the Back of the Wrist and give the Fed Reserve more Power Bill”, even though that Bill allegedly had nothing to do with nutrients. We warned the industry about that Bill and they ignored the warnings — now they are scrambling to figure out how to protect themselves from it.

Attacks on health freedom increasing…

Usually we fight health freedom issues one or two at a time. Now we are being hit with many, many issues such as irradiation of foods; the spraying of foods with viruses; chemtrails; pharmaceuticals and toxins in water supplies; vaccines (we have received info on over two hundred women who passed stillborn babies within days of getting the shot); man-made diseases such as the swine flu; toxins fed to the meat supply; Bills in Wash DC that would control both our food supply and nutrients; the international Codex rulings (with which the FDA has already said they will comply) and the push by Monsanto to control the world food supply with their GM, very toxic seeds.

While some European countries are beginning to reject these seeds (having tested and seen the problems they create), the U.S. is pushing them, and insisting that GM “food” NOT be labeled GM, “or Americans will not eat it”. You will not hear this on the mainstream media because those in power own that media. They would love us to put the white gloves on and say “pretty please, can we still have a few of our vitamins?”

Instead, we are loudly exposing them for what they are doing. We do this as a small group, volunteering most of our hours to this effort and managing to get to as many people as we do AND to get several hundred thousand letters to Wash DC every month on very little funding. You should think more kindly of us.

Their hatred makes us stronger…

We have been told via the Washington grapevine, that there are those in power who hate us; that the swine flu was supposed to be a major pandemic. But we were doing our homework and realized that the patents for the vaccines existed BEFORE the “novel” virus. That is not possible in science land. Further research indicated that the virus was lab made. Did we SCREAM? You bet! All of a sudden the swine flu threat disappeared. You do not spread something when there is ample evidence being collected against you!

Is it “crying wolf” when your crying prevents something bad from happening?

Further, the louder we scream, the more emails go to Washington. We have done testing and that has proven to be true. And since the threats to our health freedom are very real, it is important that we fight each new regulation BEFORE it is set in stone. So think nice thoughts about us as you swallow that vitamin C each morning! And get MORE involved!

Dr. Rima Reports Internet Radio focused on the Vaccine issue last night, May 23, 2010, and specifically on the attacks against vaccine critic Dr. Andrews Wakefield. In this blog entry Dr. Rima responds to a vaccine proponent, suggesting that true scientific skepticism is on the side of the “Vaccine Deniers” and that the alleged “skeptics” who denigrate vaccine opponents have become “Science Deniers” who are supporting the vaccination program for self-interest, irrational or emotional reasons, not scientific reasons. For all the snide emotionalism of your comment on Dr. Wakefield, you have both obscured and ignored several important issues in your article.

First, no vaccine, including the dangerous (yes, dangerous) MMR vaccine has been tested for either safety or efficacy, despite the fact that US law requires both. Second, adjuvants are never tested for safety, despite the fact that they are immune system irritants and, like squalene and aluminum, are known nervous system and immune system toxins.

Third, the increases in the incidence and prevalence of autism are directly proportional to numbers of vaccinated children and MMR is an unnecessary shot of no medical worth and considerable medical harm. It, like every other vaccine, has never been subjected to a placebo controlled, double blind study to show if there is any beneficial effect on those who take it, making it an untested and therefore, at least in the US, illegal drug, if enforcement were not selective and shamefully economically, not scientifically, applied.

When a corrupt and dangerous regulatory agency like the FDA threatens that it will turn walnuts into an untested, and therefore illegal, drug if the company that markets them does not remove the independent scientific study from its website that shows that walnuts could be good for your health (as it did with the Michigan Cherry Grower’s Association when they posted 6 articles showing that cherries can help with various types of arthritis) but permits dangerous experimental drugs which have never been safety tested to be injected into millions of children, there is neither logic nor science at work here.

I do not know your background, but I know that your nasty tone and irrational defense of vaccines identifies you as an emotional, not a rational, skeptic. Surely you can do better as a skeptic, (“Etymology: Latin or Greek; Latin scepticus, from Greek skeptikos, from skeptikos thoughtful, from skeptesthai to look, consider – Merriam-Webster Dictionary”) since your skeptical credo requires you not just to attack conventional beliefs (which you are failing to do by blindly accepting vaccines as beneficial – a justified cause for real skepticism – but to explore the scientific basis of the belief.

You are, in fact, doing neither. Instead, your knee-jerk defense of an unproven and dangerous medical practice shows your lack of true evaluative, skeptical thought.

Try again.

Seven Questions for Vaccine Science Deniers

That is, questions for those people who refuse to examine the simple, but urgently important question, “How do you know (or why do you believe) that vaccines protect against disease” when:

1. No vaccine has ever been evaluated through a double blind, placebo controlled study to determine if it actually has any preventive or mitigating effect on the disease of interest
2. Epidemiologists can successfully predict pandemics, epidemics and outbreaks of any given disease by tracking vaccination programs: the larger the program, the more widespread the outbreak of the disease.
3. Although US law requires all vaccines to be tested for safety and efficacy, no influenza vaccine has ever been so tested
4. Adjuvants like aluminum, squalene and other oil and water adjuvants, etc., are known to be toxic to multiple organ systems but are never tested for safety before they are added to vaccines
5. Preservatives like Polysorbate 80 (also known as “Tween 80”) are associated with infertility
6. Numerous studies show that influenza shots increase chances of dying from any cause by 3 fold, increase the development of serious conditions such as asthma which lead to hospitalization by 6 fold and, if given consecutively for 5 years, increase the chance of developing Alzheimer’s Disease by 600% although they have been shown not to provide any protection against flu whatsoever
7. Virtually all epidemics and outbreaks of communicable diseases in the modern world occur in fully vaccinated populations.

The scientific evidence is clear while the hysteria is, in fact, on the part of the Science Deniers, that is, those who support the untested, unsafe, unnecessary and unsound practice of vaccination.

For further information, please read my article, “The Syringe of Death” which details the fraudulent history of vaccination, starting with Edward Jenner’s publication of articles detailing the results of studies before the studies were complete, continuing through the epidemic of syphilis created by widespread vaccination of healthy babies with the pus of “cow pox” lesions which were, in fact, syphilitic lesions in the UK, but leprosy lesion in the British tropical empire (where a leprosy epidemic ensued), the shameful whitewash of the cause of that epidemic by the British Parliament and the continuation of the deceit to create dangerous and unnecessary, but astonishingly profitable, vaccinations by the dozens today.

IF you are interested in science and truth, the conclusion is inevitable: at the very least, one must pause to consider why the science supports the dangers of vaccines while public policy supports its continued and escalating use. The answer is not pretty, but then, greed and callous disregard for the truth rarely are.

Oh, Dr. Wakefield? His article was lauded by the medical and scientific world until the vaccine makers realized that it was having a profound impact on their sales. At that point, suddenly, Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues went from publishing a brilliant and tremendously important article to the authors of “shoddy research” and “quackery”. Amazing how scientific standards shifted upwards so radically and rapidly!

Natural Solutions Foundation challenges the vaccine pushers to actually document the alleged “numerous” studies. They do not exist. Dr. Wakefield summed the situation: “Efforts to discredit and silence me through the GMC process have provided a screen to shield the government from exposure on the MMR vaccine scandal.”

On Monday May 24th the GMC (British govt medical commission) will convene to announce, as expected, that Dr. Andrew Wakefield is to be struck off the license rolls. However, Dr. Wakefield’s supporters believe, in light of the improprieties of the Legal Services Commission and GMC, it is hoped that the panel in Wakefield’s case will be discharged pending a full inquiry.

Vaccine, autism activists and others will gather to support Andrew Wakefield at 8:00am in 30 Rockefeller Center on Monday, May 24, 2010 in front of the NBC Studios on 49th St. Between 5th and 6th Ave.

In 1998 Andrew Wakefield and 12 colleagues published a case series paper in the Lancet, describing bowel disease in twelve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, a cautious article say the findings based on a study of 12 children did not prove for certain that there was an association between MMR-cited as the cause by the parent and the syndrome, but that further research should be carried out.

The significance of these finding has been overshadowed by a concerted systematic effort to discredit the work. This effort and an intense desire to subvert the inquiry into the issues of vaccine safety and legal redress for vaccine damage, has culminated in the longest running and most expensive fitness to practice case ever to come before the GMC.

ME

My name Is Ryan Melia and I love to travel, ride bikes and eat whole unprocessed food. I began riding bikes at the same age as most kids but I just happened to stick with it, so much so that there was a time that you did not see me without that bike. I took my first trip from Chicago to Arizona on the historic route 66. For 3 weeks, there were 6 of us and 6 bikes packed into a jeep in search of new terrain to ride our bikes on, I was 16. From then on, I had the travel bug which was hard with two more years of high school. Since then, I treat every day as an adventure making it hard to remember when one trip starts and stops. Some of my favorite trips are India, Thailand, and both trips to China! In October I am hungry for more as I pedal to Panama.

Riding bikes the way I do is dangerous! I have had so many injuries that have changed my body forever. A few that stand out are two right knee ACL reconstructions, torn left PCL and a shattered and reconstructed talus bone (the weight bearing bone in the ankle). Between those injuries, the internet and some of my best friends I found out how much a good diet can speed up healing and maintain excellent functioning systems In the body. When I found out that there are people trying to take away the freedom to put highly nutritious food and supplements in my body I came up with the health freedom bike ride to give back to the people who are fighting for our health and freedom.

What We Stand For

We stand for the freedom to choose any form of healthcare, allopathic and naturopathic, according to individual free will.

We seek optimal health, beyond mere symptom suppression.

We believe that optimal health is the result of harmony involving body, mind, and heart and is only attainable when we are attentive to the underlying causes of disease.

We observe a society suffering from the illusion of a separation between health and the intricate processes of nature. This separation is the product of a mechanistic paradigm that does not acknowledge the human being as self-healing.

We believe that pharmaceutical science has provided some useful tools for acute conditions, which we value. We also believe that the misapplication of the pharmaceutical approach has lead to a culture of illness and death rather than health.

We believe that while drugs may be effective in acute situations, they pollute both our bodies and the environment when used inappropriately and excessively.

We observe that where there is optimal health, there are no symptoms. Truly healthy people and societies age well and do not experience the epidemic of chronic diseases that we experience in our society.

We believe that in a truly healthy society, where we live in greater harmony with the environment, natural medicine will serve virtually all health needs, reserving pharmaceutical medicine for rare acute situations.

We observe that the pharmaceutical industry is the largest industry on Earth with most of its drugs being useful for perpetual symptom-suppression, not cure; with hundreds of thousands dying annually in the US along, from properly prescribe pharmaceutical drugs.

We observe that humanity is moving away from the symptom-suppression model of health, toward natural health that goes after underlying cases of disease.

We believe that Codex Alimentarius (the World Food Code) is a deceptive program spawned by pharmaceutical and other multi-national industrial interests, with the undeniable agenda of indirectly undermining our sovereign health freedom laws (DSHEA), in order to forcibly maintain a mass market for drugs, processed foods, and pesticides.

We observe that these processed foods and pesticides will perpetuate the need for healthcare and that Codex Alimentarius is in the process of removing all competition to the pharmaceutical/allopathic option for that care.

We know that the Codex Alimentarius Vitamin and Mineral Guideline is unscientific since it erroneously classifies nutrients as toxins, and uses the wrong science of toxicology to determine meaningless micro-doses as “upper limits” on these essential substances. We support the Natural Solutions Foundation Alternative Vitamin and Mineral Guideline and urge that American freedom of choice in nutrients and healthcare be the model for Global Health Freedom.

We understand that biochemistry (the science of life processes) and not toxicology (the science of poisons), is the appropriate science for assessing nutritional needs.

We understand that nutrients are not toxins and do not behave as such, and thus cannot be treated as such if sound scientific advice is to be produced.

We conclude that by seeking to classify nutrients as toxins, the pharmaceutical industry is using the mantle of Codex Alimentarius to eliminate nutritional supplements and other natural health options from the marketplace under the deceptive veneer of “consumer protection”.

We realize that the concept of “consumer protection” which excludes informed consumer choice as the overriding priority is the “Great Fabrication” of Codex Alimentarius.

Codex Alimentarius is the greatest threat humanity has ever faced in the battle for personal choice and personal will, rather than economic interest, to determine health decisions. We view toxins in the food supply, unlabeled Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and mandated vaccinations as affronts to human dignity and fundamental freedoms.

We understand that in America, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) is part of our legislative protection against the destructive Codex Alimentarius Vitamin and Mineral Guideline (VMG). We know that some American politicians in Congress are working to undermine DSHEA, because without DSHEA and similar laws that classify nutrients as foods, we have no legal shield between us and Codex (which classifies nutrients as toxins).

We perceive that the power of the people to make informed natural health choices makes Codex Alimentarius vulnerable; if we urge Congress to refrain from supporting Codex Alimentarius and anti-DSHEA bills, and instead support pro-health freedom bills, they ignore our collective voices at the peril of their positions in office.

We know that more than 230 million Americans use natural health products and treatments in their lives. We also know that there are over 60 million people in America who care deeply about health and sustainability (the LOHAS market). They would become active when alerted to dangers to health and sustainability.

We are committed to applying effective marketing and communication strategies to reach and inspire the LOHAS market and other communities, in order to build a massive grass-roots movement committed to promoting and securing health freedom in America.

We understand that developing relationships with members of Congress in a spirit of respect is crucial to delivering the necessary education which will allow Congress to protect our health freedom. Congressmen and Congresswomen, individually and in their families, stand to lose as much as any other American if health freedom is lost to Codex Alimentarius.

The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173), adopted by the House of Representatives has  been initially approved by the Senate as S.3217. Sen. Scott Brown was the 60th vote for cloture. The bill appears to include language giving more power to the Federal Trade Commission to make general rules for interstate commerce that could be used to restrict truthful information about dietary supplements, by requiring expensive, “drug company” level clinical trials before vitamin companies could make claims about their products. This “reform” could hand-over the natural products industry to Big Pharma, which, over the past few years, has bought up most of the larger vitamin companies. The new rules could become a “barrier against entry” driving many smaller companies out of business.

We need to redouble our efforts to have the Senate/House Conference Committee write in protective language for dietary supplements and natural remedies.

We address this issue in an Action Item telling Congress to provide protective language for natural products which do not need the same level of substantiation (called “significant scientific agreement”) that drugs should require for public safety. The existing commercial standard of “competent and reliable scientific evidence” allows natural product marketers to rely on published literature and small-scale clinical studies appropriate for food products. From Dr. Rima: Bad News; Urgent Opportunity

 
Today the US Senate made a big mistake according to friends of helath and freedom: The Finance Reform bill has been passed. Now the House and Senate bills go to Conference Committee.  That gives us our last chance to get rid of the atrocious Waxman amendment giving the FTC the power to demand drug-level clinical trials costing billions of dollars for safe, effective supplements before they can be marketed.

Small and medium size companies, however, do not have the resources to do this, nor should they have to, given that nutrients are, under color of law, FOODS.

The pitched battle against  nutrition, nutrients, freedom, your health and, indeed, your very survivial.  Under nutrion is a major cause of premature aging, chronic degernative illness like cancer, needless suffereing and early death.  Under nutrition is a life threatening chronic condition  best combatted by nutritional sufficiency, and that means not only clean food (which S. 510 threatens directly) but supplements and nutrients.

Supplements cause a serious problem for those who profit from your illness: the problem is called robust health.  Supplements also cause a serious problem for those who seek your death through genocide: the problem is called vigorous longevity and accompanying vitality.

The last chance we have to prevent Sen. Waxman’s devastating poison pill for nutrients from becoming law is by flooding Congress with our massive opposition.  Take this Action Step once for every member of your family and then send this notice off to everyone on your email list.  Virtually every person in the US uses nutrients at some time: Waxman’s language give the government the gift that keeps on giving: Health Fascism.  It is really up to us now to rally around this urgently important issue and make sure that the conference version of the Financial Reform Bill does not contain his amendment.

Coffee’s a Lifesaver for Women

“More good news for coffee drinkers: A newly published prospective public health study, from Japan, offered further proof that regular coffee consumption may have long-term health benefits (at least for half of the population).

The results of this large Japanese study appear in the current issue of the “Journal of Nutrition.” In this study, 18,287 men and 19,455 women (between the ages of 40 and 64 years) were prospectively included in the Miyagi Cohort Study, which began in 1990.

All of these volunteers were without any clinical history of cancer, heart disease, or stroke when they entered into the study. After an average of more than 10 years of follow-up, 2,454 of the volunteers died from various causes, including 426 cases of fatal cardiovascular disease and 724 fatal cases of cancer.

These volunteers were categorized and analyzed according to their self-reported daily consumption of coffee: “never-drinkers,” “occasional-drinkers,” one to two cups per day, and three or more cups per day. Other known risk factors for cardiovascular disease (including heart disease and stroke) and cancer were also factored into the analysis of the risk of death associated with coffee consumption for each volunteer.

Among the women in this study, increasing levels of daily coffee consumption were associated with a decreasing risk of death, due to any cause. (This “dose-dependent” relationship between daily coffee consumption and risk of death strongly suggests a direct clinical relationship between increased coffee consumption and a decreased risk of death.)

When compared to the women who did not drink coffee at all, the women who drank three or more cups of java per day were 25 percent less likely to die from any cause during this decade-long public health study. The coffee-associated reduction in the risk of death from cardiovascular disease was even more powerful (and also appeared to be “dose-dependent”), as the women who downed three or more cups of coffee per day experienced a whopping 55 percent decrease in the risk of death due to cardiovascular causes!

Finally, there was an apparent modest decrease in the risk of dying from colorectal cancer among the female coffee drinkers, but no other reduction in the risk of dying from cancer was observed in association with regular coffee consumption among these women volunteers.

Unfortunately this study did not identify any apparent beneficial health effects of regular coffee consumption in men. The reason for this gender-related disparity is not clear, although it is well known that there are major differences in both the incidence of cardiovascular disease between men and women, and differences in the way that cardiovascular diseases (and heart disease, in particular) manifest themselves in women versus men.

It is, therefore, possible, that cardiovascular disease factors that are more unique to women are directly impacted upon by regular coffee consumption. (At least no adverse effects of regular coffee consumption on male mortality were observed in this study.)

So, ladies, keep the favorable results of this clinical research study in mind whenever you order that next cuppa Joe!
