FAQ RE: Site Blocked

FAQ’s on Our Blocked Site
As you probably know, yesterday the Natural Solutions Foundation website was blocked by its service provider www.1and1.com*

So many people have written to express support, ask questions and suggest options and solutions that I thought I would send out an update and give you the full details of what has happened so far. We are taking this very seriously, indeed. We feel that this represents a violation of our rights to speak our truth as we see fit and share that truth with you. Please make sure you read the FAQ about putting up another site. Those of you who asked if the problem could just be a technical problem will find that sectionrather interesting. (Hint: no, it was not just a technical problem.)
The number of emails you sent to the Natural Solutions Foundation was truly staggering. Your expressions of support, suggestion
on how to fix the the problem and make sure it could not happen again were wonderful. Sharing your own experiences of similar events was strengthening and extremely helpful. Every email will be answered personally but it will take a little time because of the volume of those emails.I have read every one of those emails and thought it would be useful to send out an FAQ sheet to address the questions and issues raised by so many of you in the meantime, though.

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE SITE NOW?

The Natural Solutions Foundation site is operational again. You can go there now. There apparently are some areas that are not fully operational so please, if you come across anything that is not working properly, email me at dr.laibow@gmail.com

IS THE SITE FULLY FUNCTIONAL AT THIS POINT?

The Natural Solutions Foundation site is working more or less correctly except that all the pictures of items on the Organics4U store are missing and some people have been having trouble signing up for the mailing list. We have no idea why they are missing but the rest of the store is working fine. If you want to sign up and you cannot, here’s my email: dr.laibow@gmail.com. Send me an email and I will make sure you are added.

EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED?

Two days ago we got an email from a supporter saying that the site was not on line. Within a short time I had received many similar emails. I went on line, confirmed that the site was unavailable and contacted our hosting site, www.1and1.com. When I attempted to log in, I found that our site was listed as “locked”.

Two months ago 1and1.com had said the credit card we use to pay for the hosting service ($99 per month) would not accept the charge. The card was fine. Rather than hassle further with the people in their billing department, we gave them permission to use another card so I thought that perhaps they had gotten the billing wrong again.

Their billing department was closed so I called their technical support department. I waited in a stack-up for 19 minutes and 45 seconds (typical of all my calls to 1and1.com, by the way) and since I was calling from overseas the charges were escalating and I was getting more displeased by the billing unit.

Mahat Answers the Phone

Finally Mahat, a technician, answered the call. I explained the problem to him and he looked at their computer and said, yes, the site is locked. When I asked why, Mahat said that it had been locked with no information and that was unusual. I asked him to look into it and he could/would not. When I wanted to talk to a supervisor, Mahat said his supervisor was on leave. I asked to speak to his supervisor’s supervisor and he said that he was not there. I asked the higher up to call me when he came in. Mahat said he would not.

Figuring that if a site could be locked it could be unlocked, I got Mahat to ask the supervisor of another team to authorized the site being unlocked. Mahat reported that the other person said, “If it were on the weekend we would do it but it is a weekday so we won’t unlock the site.”

Billing was open only from 9-5 PM on the next business day (yesterday). However, since I am on the other side of the world, that was a long time away.

A call to billing resulted in a similar wait and then a person got on line and told me that the site was blocked because of a credit card payment problem. This is not possible. I asked why this information was not on their computer. I got no answer. A struggle ensued and I was finally told that the site would be reopened “within the hour” and that another credit card payment would be charged to my account.

SITE DOES NOT GET UN-BLOCKED

The site did not go back on line. I spent the next 6 hours repeatedly calling headquarters (which turns out to be a call center, not a headquarters according to the person on the other end who did not know the name of the President of the company or any officers of the company to whom I could speak) and calling the billing department, technical service and anyone else who might have been able to help. 1and1.com lists their technical support as a 24 hour service.

The recorded message which stayed on for hours was “We are sorry. All circuits are busy. Please try your call again later.” I did. For over 6 hours. It was not “later” enough.

DID NATURAL SOLUTIONS FOUNDATION PUT UP ANOTHER SITE?

One of the first things I did was contact my webmaster who said he would put up an informational site alerting people to what had happened if they went to our site. He did so very quickly. His server and all of the sites he hosts immediately crashed. When he took our temporary site down, the servers and sites were fine.

COULDN’T THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN JUST A TECHNICAL ISSUE?

The problems we experienced and the ones our webmaster experienced are characteristic of a DDOS or Dedicated Disruption of Service attack in which a bank of computers is set up to fire off so many repeating and competing requests for access to a site that the system crashes. That is not a simple technical event. It requires planning and sophisticated capacity to damage of destroy site capacity.

Many of you wrote to ask if we could pursue legal action because of the disruption. Here is what our webmaster wrote to me about that question:

While DDOS are technically illegal and prosecutable, it’s basically impossible to track down the perpetrators. They could be in any country, directed by parties in any other country. They could be using a computer here, a computer there, they could even be using your computer if you’ve got a virus on your hard drive. So this route — prosecution — is not realistic (at least at this point).

1and1.com has still not disclosed whether they had locked our site because it had been the target of a DDOS but the chances are good since our URL immediately was hit with DDOS activity when our webmaster redirected it to his temporary page.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MAKE SURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN?

Many people sent excellent suggestions about mirroring sites and other strategies to prevent a repeat of this episode. We are vigorously investigating them and will certainly take action to make sure we are not prone to this kind of attack again.

I CALLED 1AND1.COM AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

Me too! But many of you wrote to say that you had called 1and1 which said that they were getting lots of calls about the Natural Solutions Foundation being off line. To all of you who called or wrote to Congress about this, THANKS!

NOW THAT THE SITE IS UP AGAIN, IS THE EVENT OVER?

Not by a long shot! Our freedom of speech has been interfered with and we want to know why and by whom. We will keep you posted.

We will also be making changes (which many of you suggested) to make sure that this does not happen again. If it does, we’ll get past it because of your community of support just like this time!

OK. NATURAL SOLUTIONS FOUNDATION SURVIVED THIS ATTACK. WHAT’S NEXT?

You can be sure that there will be more attacks. Disinformation, Disruption and Deception. The 3 Ds are potent tools used by those who have secrets to keep when it comes to power and money. They don’t want the secrets out and the Natural Solutions Foundation is telling it exactly the way it is. There will be more attacks, you may be sure.

We have been very busy planning for the next stages of our fight. Now we have a new piece in the puzzle: freedom of speech. You can be sure that we will be focusing on that in our blogs and emails and asking you to help support uncensored sharing of information and ideas. Without freedom, what does health freedom mean?

ARE GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS NEXT IN THE FOUNDATION SITES ?

The Natural Solutions Foundation attended a Codex meeting in Oslo last month on the labeling of GM foods. We were invited to speak in Africa in June on the topic and we are now working on a White Paper on Genetically Modified Foods and their serious flaws and dangers. Right now you can buy the Codex eBook detailing the solution to the Codex press forcing countries do down regulate all effective vitamins and minerals (the other nutrient substances are under the hammer, too) which we give to heads of state, ministers of health, etc. It is beautiful book which clearly sets forth the problem of low potency nutrients and gives both clinical and legal solutions which people and countries can follow to become World Trade Organization sanction-proof. ARE YOU STILL TRAVELING A LOT?

This year, with your help we will attend the following Codex meetings:

* May: Codex Committee on Food Labeling, Canada

* September, Codex Biotech Committee, Japan
* November, Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses, Germany
* We will be lecturing and meeting with decision makers in India, Tanzania, Ghana, Us, Nigeria and about 10 other countries during 2007.
* We are working hard on initiating programs under the International Decade of Nutrition in several countries. These programs make the impact of nutrition clear through beautifully designed, high potency nutrient programs and other simple, natural techniques for ensuring health and health freedom.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

Hundreds of people wrote to say that they were grateful for the work that we are doing because this is their fight, too. They are absolutely right! Get involved.

1. Sign the Citizens Petition! Print out copies and take them to public gatherings, health food stores, your food market, your play group. Ask people to sign them. Email the link and get people talking. Take them wherever you go and help people to see that it is their battle as well.

2. Email the Nutricide link to every one you know. Tell them why they need to be involved in this issue. Arrange showings of the Nutricide Video in your home town, club or church. Take lots of Citizens Petitions with you so people can sign it when they have seen the video.

3. Use your creativity to find ways that you can help to win this battle. If you paint, or you sing or you do data entry or you do bake sales or dance recitals, or play jazz or sew or have your businessman’s club that would like to sponsor a cause take up health freedom, etc. Think about what you can bring to the health freedom battle and then do it! 4. What happens if the unique voice of the Natural Solutions Foundation is not here defending your health and your health freedom? Don’t let that happen. Practice the 3 G’s of health freedom: Get involved, Give and Germinate new interest!

Mark of the Beast or Marking the Best?

What I am about to tell you will thrill you and chill you at the same time. It will thrill you because it confirms that the course set by the Natural Solutions Foundation in the US and around the world is an effective strategy which is working. And it will chill you because it confirms that your personal freedoms and mine are being curtailed at a frightening rate in the US and elsewhere. Freedom to make your own health choices and use natural products and techniques, eat clean, unadulterated food and see health care professionals who treat you naturally is clearly under huge attack. Part and parcel of that attack is the attack on our rights, given by God, according to the Constitution of the United States, to speak as we wish and contend with the views of government and industry (increasingly one entity, in the US and elsewhere) without fear of punishment because of that speech.

As advocates for what we believe (and what you do, too), we know that speaking our truth to power and to the public at large is our right and our responsibility. Apparently, for doing so, we have been marked by the “security police” as people to be treated like enemies. Our work on behalf of health and health freedom has led some cog in the burgeoning US security Gestapo to do us the favor of confirming that the Natural Solutions Foundation is on exactly the right path. We are saying and doing things the US Government is not happy about and to let us know that, they treat us like enemies of the state every time we fly in the United States!

Here’s the story:
For about the last year, every time General Stubblebine and I travel by air — anywhere — we have been subjected to increasing, and increasingly nasty and burdensome, scrutiny at security screening points. As you know, we do a LOT of traveling so this was very, very clear to us. Up until recently, however, we were always told that it was due to “random screening procedures” and that we had been “selected for additional security”. It was, of course, a funny kind of random: the enhanced security seemed to randomly apply to anyone named Albert N. Stubblebine III and Rima E. Laibow, MD who just happened to share our seat assignments.

On January 10, 2007, when General Stubblebine and I left our home near New York City on another extended trip in the service of health and health freedom, the security thing got ratcheted up quite a large notch. Our itinerary was Newark NJ (a New York regional airport) to Asheville NC to Albuquerque NM to Los Angeles to Bangkok and beyond. Within the US we were flying on Delta Airlines. At each airport both General Stubblebine and I were treated to a level of absurd “security” unlike any we had ever experienced before. I was “smacked down”, not patted down. Our carry-on luggage was not just inspected, it was torn apart. Wires, mice, cables, combs, lipsticks, everything was opened, examined, flung around, shoved into bags in a totally disorganized, “higgledy piggledy” manner with rude demeanor and agonizing slowness thrown in for good measure. We came very close to missing our flights several times despite being at the security station a full 2 hours before take off. Nasty does not even begin to describe the manner in which we were treated.

During a lay over between connecting flights I got to chatting with a member of the Delta Airlines cabin crew staff who was “dead heading” home from an international flight. I told him about the treatment we had been experiencing and he said, “You must have a code on your tickets put there by the government. Are you speaking out about something the government doesn’t like?”

So at the next check point I innocently said to the woman checking our boarding passes and photo IDs (which is, of course, just a warm up for the “Real ID” national identification card coming our way in 2008) that we were experiencing an absurd amount of security scrutiny. She smiled warmly, pointed to our boarding passes and said, “Well, here’s why. The code is right here on your boarding cards: it says that you are to get extreme scrutiny. Are you talking about something the government doesn’t want you to say?”

At that airport, too, we were subjected to the same malicious and ridiculous “screening” as at all the others. The code was right there: SSSS. So our tickets marked us, presumably at the request of the United States Government Department of Homeland Security, as bad people, people who should have their persons and belongings searched for dangerous contents. Bad people, people who should be taught a lesson, intimidated and, most important of all, people who should be cowed into not speaking out to defend their rights and the rights of others. For speaking our truth both to power and to the masses, we have been marked, as with the biblical “Mark of the Beast”.

I say, however, that our paranoid and dangerously out of control government, the one that has forgotten that our rights are, according to the United States Constitution, conferred by God, NOT by the US government, had obviously created a process of marking the best. Those who speak out, those who tell their truth and remind our government that it serves us, it does not own us, those who keep the flame of liberty, which demands active participation to feed it, alive and vigorous, are marked “for special scrutiny”. And these are the best patriots.

If the Natural Solutions Foundation were not on target, its spokespersons would not be targets. If the Natural Solutions Foundation’s Codex activities were not right on the mark, Dr. Claude Moshe, the Codex Alimentarius Commission Chairman would not have marked us for special attack before and during the 2006 Codex Alimentarius Commission meeting last July in Geneva.

Actually, I feel pretty good about receiving this direct confirmation from the US Government at the same time that I feel enraged and sorrowing that this is what our institutionalized paranoia has led us to: speak up and be marked. Be a real patriot by defending your country from corporate tyranny and become a target. You will remember that when we returned home from another long trip (during which we met privately with the President of India to brief him on Codex), our internet and phone service had been interrupted by someone who climbed the phone pole outside our isolated and remote home, removed a filter from its insulating and water-proof boot and left the boot open. Since we live on a street with only 12 houses and virtually no traffic, the pole feeds only our home with telephone and power lines. The message? Just ask General Stubblebine, who, during his active duty military career, controlled the US Army’s counter-intelligence service and he will tell you that what it means is, “We know where you live!” So the powers that be were telling us last July that we were on a watch list, too.

Is this what freedom is about? Is this what the US Constitution is about? Or is this of a piece with the same government policies and practices that are working so hard to take away your right to vitamins, minerals, natural prevention and treatment options — in short to your taking, and holding, control of your own health in favor of a pharmaceutical tyranny?

We know the answer and so do you. To the extent that you value that freedom, it is up to you to take a stand, and keep taking it, for yourself and others who may not understand yet that their freedoms, and, in fact, their very survival is at stake.

There are powerful steps you can take to support your freedoms and exercise them at the same time. Some of them will sound familiar, some will be new. They are ALL vitally important to the extent that your health and freedom are important.

Step 1: USE THE TOOL KIT
A. NUTRICIDE Watch “Nutricide” on Google Video and then get the “Nutricide: the DVD” and show it in your community. Make sure you send everyone you know this link and ask them to watch the video and then go to the Natural Solutions Foundation website, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org.
B. CODEX eBOOK The Codex eBook applies the Natural Solutions Foundations’ Two Step Process (developed in conjunction with the Citizens Codex Working Group) which can protect countries from both the dangers of Codex and World Trade Organization trade sanctions for deviating from Codex has been applied to the dangerous and restrictive Vitamin and Mineral Guideline. Get the same information we present to Heads of State, Codex Delegates, Ministers of Health and other decision makers in this outstanding down-loadable eBook.
C. CODEX INFORMATION
Big Pharma and the other corporate friends of health fascism don’t want you to know what’s going on so there is a virtual black out on information about Codex. Natural Solutions Foundation wants you to have accurate, accessible and vital information. When you visit www.HealthFreedomUSA.org you will find a wealth of information for your use. Feel free to take the 5 minute Codex Tour, be sure to read “Nutricide: the Killing Fields of Codex“, download the one page Codex Flyer, visit the Resource Center, etc. You have my personal permission to use, share or reproduce these materials as long as you give full credit and a complete citation when you do. Email it, post it, blast it, just get the word out. The major media are not covering this issue so it’s up to you and me.

B. TAKE THE ACTION STEPS
Join the Citizens Petition and become part of the historic suit against the US Government against their illegal Codex policy on supplements. Nearly 40,000 other US Citizens have already signed the petition. Let your circle of influence know how important their signatures are and send them the link with your suggestion that they sign the Citizens Petition, too!

Step 2: SIGN UP FOR EMAIL UPDATES

Mental Health Freedom: What Are You Taking and Why?

I’ll admit it. I got scooped! I was planning to blog, e-blast, write press releases, do a series of interviews and generally focus attention on a burning question that could save your life or your child’s (or someone else’s): “Drugs: What are You Taking and Why?”. But a wonderful campaign got there first and is doing a spectacular job of providing information about the serious, and potentially lethal, disconnect between psychiatric drugs, psychiatric diagnoses and biochemical reality.

I want to tell you about this campaign and urge you to consult the first class information provided on their site, their radio shows, articles and tools for empowerment and choice-making. Psychiatric drugs can be dangerous, they are largely untested, their efficacy is unproven, and they are powerful toxins which can have lasting, and often highly damaging, impact on the brain and behavior. Their long term effects are little known in adults and virtually unknown in children. None the less, they are quick and easy to use: they provide an initial damping of disturbing or irksome behaviors in many patients. True, the distressing and dangerous downward spiral of more symptoms, more drugs, more symptoms, more drugs, more symptoms, more drugs is a well established cycle rooted in biochemical reality. Unfortunatley, the use of these drugs is not rooted in any such biochemical solidity. The much-vaunted “Chemical Imbalance” has never been shown to exist. Treating it with expensive, life-threatening drugs whose efficacy is more a matter of glossy, but brilliant, media than of of non-commerically-tainted science is highly questionable at best and may be a lot worse. The system is broken (see below), drugs are highly questionable and should only be taken with full knowledge of the risks and benefits, and of all other options available (including questioning any diagnosis made so that you understand completely why you [or your child]) should, or should not, take the drugs offered by a harried, time-compressed, well-meaning, but well-indoctrinated physician or other prescriber.

What to do? Go to “The Truth About Psychiatry” and spend some time there. The information is sound, good science and, where there are only questions instead of answers, clearly and simply stated. While the site is not yet complete (the bookstore, for example, is yet to come), the information is top notch as are the experts who have banded together to get the word out: if YOU do not know what, and why, you are taking medication, it is your right and your responsibility to find out. Their radio archives, currently contain 11 easily downloadable archived interviews which are uniformly high quality, non technical and riveting. Each one is more potent, and more empowering, than the last. And each one prepares you to ask the right questions and evaluate the answers you get from your doctor or any where else.

The “Just Say Know” site is not about drug bashing. It is about ignorance busting.

To help you be in the know so you can make truly informed decisions, there is a very elegant, simple, clear (and clearly useful) form which you can download at www.psychtruth.org/justsayknow.htm. Working through it with your doctor you can see what you are taking and why. And, whatever your decision about the drugs themselves, as an informed consumer you are “doing a body good!” — Yours!

As general counsel, I am responding to questions that have been raised regarding the work of the Natural Solutions Foundation. The recent attacks are akin to the Pharma-Cartel funded “Quack-Buster” attacks on pharmaceutical medicine’s most effective, natural (alternative) competitor therapies, and the unfounded criticisms voiced by the Chairman of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, Dr. Claude Mosha, at recent Codex meetings (see: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/7/prweb406560.htm).This orchestrated campaign appears designed to undermine and marginalize Natural Solutions Foundation.

Smear, ridicule, slander and liable are used against all effective opponents of the pharma-driven world order. These attacks are a validation of how effective The Foundation’s International Strategy has been in creating a pro-health consortium at the international level. These baseless smear tactics are intended to divide the health freedom community and isolate one of the most effective and sophisticated international forces for consumer health and natural health options – the Natural Solutions Foundation. We reject these attacks as unworthy of further response. I think we can all agree that our focus must be on actions that engage Codex Alimentarius, the World Food Code, in supporting good nutrition and natural health solutions.

It has been falsely asserted that I disagree with the leadership of the Foundation about impact of steps taken at the Codex CCFL and the implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health.

My article about the events at the Codex CCFL meeting in Canada earlier this year reported that the committee took significant steps toward a more nutritionally sound international food trade. Specifically the committee included the South African principles for implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health in the committee’s official meeting report. I also reported the ongoing jockeying between major forces in Codex, especially, the US and EU.

The report of the meeting posted by the leaders of the Natural Solutions Foundation, who were also present, made the same points as my article. The Final Committee Report states …

“24) The Delegation of South Africa, supported by the observer from NHF, put forward several proposals for consideration: recognizing that nutrients are not toxins and that their assessment should reflect acknowledged benefits and desired impacts from their use in order to achieve positive outcomes and that they should generally be recognized as safe; banning the addition of partially and fully hydrogenated trans fatty acids in foods; allowing the enrichment of dietary supplements in foods in order to optimize nutrient density to compensate for a decline in micronutrients in various foods; ensuring that global legislation prevent the use of industrial toxins and additives that are not supported by biochemistry and clinical experience; supporting nutrition and health claims and advertising for those foods that contribute to a healthy life style, while banning such claims for those foods which do not contribute to a healthy life style, especially as regards avertising as directed to children, all in the context of optimal health.”

This is unique and important step in insuring the inclusion of nutrition standards in international food trade rules. The South African representatives at the meeting concurred with us in our interpretation of these events.

We at the Natural Solutions Foundation believe that the inclusion of the essence of the “South African principles” in the CCFL Committee Final Report advances our two-pronged strategy for the implementation of an international food trade standard that focuses on organic food and natural health options which tracks the Health Freedom principles of the US Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994, that Supplements are Foods, not Toxins.[4],[5] The strategy consists of persuading countries to adopt a health promoting revised guideline or standard based on better science than the corresponding Codex guideline or standard and then enact legislation which makes this revised guideline or standard national law. With respect to the Codex Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements, this template would be manifested in the following manner:

1. Establish the international guidelines for food supplement trade developed by Natural Solutions Foundation in conjunction with the Citizens for Health Codex Working Group as their domestic nutritional guidelines, rather than the scientifically flawed Codex Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements (ratified July 4, 2005, Rome, Italy).

2. Adopt domestic national food supplement laws that apply the principles of the US Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA).

Natural Solutions Foundation and the Citizens for Health Codex Working Group have developed a Model International Food Supplements law to assist countries interested in adopting DSHEA-type legislation based on the principle that nutrients are foods to serve as the precedent for other corrective guidelines and standards to replace those which support an industrialized food supply over a natural, organic one. Natural Solutions Foundation representatives have had great success in pursuing this agenda in meetings with senior national officials, including cabinet members and heads of state, in several African and Asian countries and at Codex meetings. The actions of the Codex CCFL in Canada have been helpful in these efforts. But the favorable discussions held so far are only the first steps in creating sound nutritional standards for international food trade. The next step is to persuade countries to act on the information that they are treating positively in these early conversations.

For your records, to allow comparison with what the CCFL included in its Report, here are the South African Principles as proposed to the CCFL:

South Africa presented eleven points for the implementation of the Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Exercise and Health:

1. Formally recognize and accept that nutrients are not toxins. They should be subjected to sound assessment procedures which take into account empirical, clinical, statistical and peer review processes and which take acknowledged benefits and desirable impact from the use of them in order to achieve positive outcomes, into consideration;

2. Formally accept nutrients as generally safe and encourage the unrestricted sale of that category of food called “dietary supplements” at all levels, including optimum potency levels, throughout the world;

3. Ban all added trans fats derived from industrial hydrogenation in the production of food;

4. Ensure that countries are encouraged to add, and do not place restrictions on the addition of nutrients which are supported by biochemistry, clinical nutrition, clinical experience, empirical observation and customary usage to food;

5. Ensure that countries enact strong legislative restrictions on the addition of industrial toxins to food, which are not supported by biochemistry, clinical nutrition, clinical experience and customary usage;

6. Allow and encourage enrichment of foods through the addition of that class of food called dietary supplements in order to optimize nutrient density of foods. Require that countries compensate for the decline in micronutrients in agricultural produce (e.g., fruits and vegetables) as a result of the depletion of trace nutrients in soil by commercial agriculture practices through the incorporation of that class of food called dietary supplements in order to optimize nutrient density of these foods;

7. Encourage and support the development of national and international policies which, enhance local, national, regional and global optimal nutrition through life-style modification (including diet), fortification and supplementation with that category of food called dietary supplements at all levels, including optimum potency levels;

8. Identify foods that do not contribute to, conflict with or are not essential for a healthy lifestyle (”junk food”). Similarly, identify foods that can support a healthy life-style. Support nutrition and health claims in labeling and advertising for those foods that do contribute to a healthy life-style and ban nutrition and health claims on the labeling and advertising of those foods which do not contribute to a healthy life style in order to encourage health-supporting foods and discourage ones that do not support health;

9. Ensure that countries encourage truthful, full and accurate labeling and advertising on all foods, which contribute to health and ban advertising and health claims on those that do not;

10. Ensure that countries develop a ban on junk food advertising to children (birth to 18 years);

11. Require that the Chairpersons of CCFL and CCNFSDU report to the Codex Alimentarius Commission every other year on the status of the implementation of the WHO/FAO GLOBAL STRATEGY ON DIET, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND HEALTH and items 1-10 listed above.[6]

I trust that this letter clarifies the role of the Natural Solutions Foundation and myself in the campaign to include sound nutrition principles in the regulation of international food trade. What a day! You already know that the Natural Solutions Foundation is purusing an international strategy since Codex is an international problem and a legal strategy since Codex uses law-like proceedures to force its pro-illness views on the nations of the world. Well, there are nations still able to refuse to be controlled by external forces like Codex. India may well be one of them.g

I promised you that today’s events would knock your socks off so get ready: today Bert and I met with the President of India, Mr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and briefed him on Codex! In a

    private

meeting with Bert and me Mr. Kalam, who is known and revered by everyone we spoke with as “The People’s President”, listened carefully and took in everything we said. He promised to study our information carefully (contained in the Codex eBook) and it is clear that we have a listening ear and a potential ally in Mr. Kalam. This leader is known far and wide as a strong advocate of natural health methods and, indeed, it was by congratulating us on our focus on natural health and urging us to include the mind, not just the body, in our healing (which we do), that Mr. Kalam began our supposedly 20 minute meeting. After the 30 minute mark had passed, we were still in the room talking although the staff was in a furor. Mr. Kalam was unperturbed by their sense of urgency and we were able to continue talking.

It was, in short, an amazing opeing which we are profoundly grateful to Prof. Dr. B. M. Hegde, Director, Natural Solutions Foundation — India, that this highly significant meeting came about.

Thank you, Prof. Dr. Hegde, for your support and help. And thank you, Mr. Kalam, for your listening, learning mind.

The President of India, a country with more than 1.2 Billion people was listening very, very carefully. He is known as an incorruptable man of the highest integrety who speaks for what he believes, not for what is convenient.
